What would be the widest tire I can safely put on my 4x4 with 18x7" rims? Thank you in advance. bob

Its a little more complicated than that. It also depends on the type of tire you want (sidewall) not just the width. The best option may be to decide on the specific tire you want and then see what the options are in sizes for an 18x7 wheel. As many may run tires that are much wider than recommended by the manufacturer, you may want to have more info than someone on a forum telling you they run xxx and then you purchase the same width of tire only to discover they won't work as you had hoped. Don't always trust everyone. The tire store is no exception. I went to X place and guy told me his "expert" said I could have fit 42x16.5s on an 8" lift...... Yeah sure....
