So you need everything from the peddle to the carb? or only just firewall to carb? That was my main reason for asking too, i wasn't sure if the whole setup was different.
I personally think the adjustable rod style has a better feel than the cable set up. Both my 76 & 77 are the rod style & my 79 has the cable and like numberdummy said finding the right length cable can be a PITA! and yes the pedel has to be changed if you switch. the cable style sets in a V-channel where as the rod style snaps on a peg
But that wierd clip pops off when the engine is tq'ed up and you can feel the drivetrain twist in the teddle.

You'd need some very serious twisting of the motor to pop that throttle rod clip off the carb, we're talking broken motor mount, i've never lost one, if you have, then something's wrong.
Maybe the time it did it the clip wasn't clipped correctly. But I can feel throttle change in the peddle, And the engine mounts are bolted, and welded. I'll have to take a look at the trans mount.

These weird clips are right B7A-9825-B and left B7A-9826-A specific. The same two have been used on all sorts of FoMoCo vehicles beginning in 1957, also used on other makes, can be bought from autoparts stores.
The clips are spring steel, when they loose tensile strength, can pop off the rod. Time to replace the little charmer with a new clip, cuz it's 30 + years old.
Want gen-u-ine Ford? There are over 500 of each side available NOS from FoMoCo Dealers/obsolete parts vendors.
