So The transmission died yesterday I sold the truck to the junk yard got $700 which considering it has several other issues I'm happy with what I got but now I can buy a ford explorer from the transmission shop where I brought my truck to be looked at. now details on the 2002 explorer are fully loaded 4x4 leather traction control etc.... 4.6 V8 with 260000kms with a rebuilt transmission (at this transmission shop that has it for sale) good tires safetied and e-tested for $2500 ???? any ideas or comments will be greatly appreciated

thats probably 175,000 miles ?? $2500 sounds like a good price if it runs good and has a new transmission. Ours has 160K and runs great. Have changed out 3 of the 4 wheel bearings and ready to do the 4th soon... Other than that, runs good. Run down the road at 60 MPH and see how the rear end and wheel bearings sound first.
