Gotta replace the kingpins on my 68 F350. I have read the factory service manual and a few online tutorials and Im positive I can do it myself. My one question tho is, How do I know what size reamer I need to ream the bushings? Does anybody know. Does anybody know where i can look to find out?
Take the spindles, along with the new bushings and pins to the machine shop, they can press them in and ream them to a precise fit, paid 50 dollars to have my 49 F-5's done.
It is not worth buying the tools unless you plan on doing a bunch of them. Machine shop is a good move in this case. I do not know the exact size reamer you need but it will be just slightly larger than the pin. I mean very slightly larger as in just enough so you can get the pin in with no wobble.
I have this job in my near future too. I'll go to a well-equipped shop because my friend just did it, said the shop press showed 40 T when it came loose. I can't swing a hammer that hard!

BTW FWIW get the kit with the metal bushings, they last forever if you keep them greased, the nylon ones you'll basically be changing with your spark plugs.
