carb issues

My brother has a 350 w/edelbrock intake & 4bbl 600cfm; when he gets up to about 55 gas shoots out the carb. Any clue anyone?
Thanks

Too much ignition advance, or incorrect valve clearance

Perhaps there is too much fuel pressure? Might try a regulator, or mount a gauge and check the fuel pressure while driving to see if it is getting too high. Too much fuel pressure will push the needle off it's seat, causing the fuel bowl to overfill, and extra gas will come out of the vent.
