So I haven't been able to back up for awhile while the truck is hot for awhile... It will.. but it will have to be on a hill rolling for 5 feet and then it will kick in or when it is cold it is totally fine. Then about a month ago I went over to my friends house and I scared him to death because he didn't think I was gona make the turn and told me to back up. Well I made the turn(my driving skills have improved alot since I don't have reverse) and then I told him I don't have reverse. Then a week later he told me that my tranny fluid was low or I had a cracked torque converter. I check the fluid and it was totally fine. Haven't thought bout it since. About a week ago the truck started to make a shudder. About 2 weeks ago I took it to autozone and they said that my TPS was going out. I thought it was debating on which gear it was going in. Sometimes its fine other times my truck is slower than me waiting for ice cream to come outta the bucket upside down. But about an hour ago I was driving and it made a horrible shudder. I wasn't laying into it I was keep the speed steady at 55. It sounded and felt like it was downshifting rapidly. It did it twice in a row in about 3 seconds and never did it again on the way home.
Heres the question.. Do yall think I need a new one?
Anything by Hughes Performance is top of the range. However that may not be your problem. A bad converter will show no drive in forward as well as reverse, not just in one.
Pull the codes and make repairs to clear those codes, the auto transmissions in these trucks are completely computer controlled and any sensor issue will make them behave irratically.
