Security System

I have a 2001 F-250 and live in Phoenix which has a high truck theft problem. I am looking of a good security system that does not just honk and sound like a clown show but will disable the ignition system so they cannot drive it away.....The one that I have found is made by Viper systems.... Any thoughts will help. Thanks to all the help.

If I had to do it all over again I would put one of these in my truck

California Ravelco anti-theft 1-866-NoHotwire (866-664-6894)California Ravelco

Others will chime in with some DIY ways to disable the truck as well but this is supposed to be about the best there is.

If you want foolproof, go with a Ravelco.

If you want something the thieves haven't seen before, put a kill switch on the IDM relay.

Install a couple "pain generator sirens" in the dash ducts. At 120db each they tend to make people want to depart the vehicle quickly when activated.Especially when aimed right at the driver.

I like that Ken. My luck it would come on on the freeway. Great idea.
