alright, the job is done. used Rustoleum "stops rust" automotive primer:
heres before i started
then i used very fine scotchbrite to remove all the surface corrosion that had started, heres a pic of the scotchbrite test before i fully went to town
then after a tedious process of getting as much rust off of every surface and every nook and cranny, i sprayed and wiped everything down with denatured alcohol. then taped off anything i didnt want overspray on. then i started shootin black
Tux. Now that's what I'm talkin About, looks good. I done everthing in a semi gloss.
My truck thanks me, everytime I look under her.
A friend of mine put his truck on jack stands fired her up, put in low gear, got out mothers polish and rag. He made that aluminum shaft bout chrome looking. Then spray I believe the clearcoat for aluminum wheels. Still looks dang good.0

semi gloss would have been nice, but i thought about difficulty in getting a even coverage.
while the easy way may be tempting (jack stands / spinning drivshaft), i can think of many reasons that could be very dangerous. i know people have lost body parts and gotten killed doin stuff like that.

yes i do have lots of time on my hands out here. lemme tell you, i would much rather have been home with my family for memorial day weekend tho.
It's running great my friend. I could not be happier with this truck! I was working in some 0-60 times with Ruschejj in another thread but right now I got 3,000 lb of water in the back so that slowed me down a bit.
