Im going to put a roll in liner
in my 79 f150 long box
I got a kit from EZ Liner
any feed back on this product
has any one used this type
if so how did it turn out
With a DIY kit its all in the preparation of the surface from what I hear. Duraliner, Herculiner, wally world, auto zone kit its all the same, prep the surface very well.
yeah, I sanded/scuffed/degreased mine thoroughly before putting it on, it sucked but was worth the effort.
*I also hit any spots with more rust (like the bolt holes and places I couldn't get to) than I liked after the above with some rust converting primer, just as extra precaution before the liner.
Something else I did; I put the first layer on with the little roller and a paintbrush, then the second layer with a larger house roller. It made the texture a LOT more even in my case and gave it a little more "grippiness" *word??lol .
I turned my girls loose with some 220 wet or dry for a few hours. They did a good job of making sure the bed was scuffed up and clean. The liner held up pretty good until I sold it.
