Thumbs up Banks Performance Upgrades

I am thinking of adding a Banks Ram Air and monster dual exhaust to my 6.7 for better fuel economy and sound. Anyone using this combo or know anything about it? I wonder how good the oiled air filter is versus stock [I always thought more airflow equals more dirt and oil fouled sensors] and I wonder how much better the exhaust is over stock. Also, would I be voiding my factory warranty by using this stuff? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, I'm just looking for some better fuel economy and sound, not interested in tuning or deleting emissions equipment [yet].

Not sure you will get a lot of feedback on those specific Banks products here. I don't know any of the regulars that have them.

Thanks

No personal experience with the Banks products in question, but in general the following would still apply.

An Intake won't really help much if running the stock tuning and emissions B/S. Honestly not worth spending the money on if not tuning.

A filter back exhaust will do NOTHING except look better. No difference in performance, sound, mpg, etc. 100% solely for looks. That's your only exhaust choice if leaving the emissions equipment in place.

You're not going to see any tangible improvements in performance or MPG unless you delete the emissions equipment and tune the truck, and even then it's not a huge gain.

Hope that somewhat answers your questions.

If/When you do decide to tune/delete the truck, Banks is NOT what you'll need. H&S or Spartan will be the 2 to pick from for delete tuning.

In my humble opinion (and that of MANY others in the pre-6.7 world I lived in)

banks has a MUCH better marketing department than engineering dept

much hype for little benefit....

and to your question of warranty...
depending on the dealer it COULD cause issues - more than a few 6.0's were tagged with dusted turbos due to aftermarket intakes.... and as stated - for very little benefit!

I did a mbrp dpf filter back exhaust from ebay for $172 to replace the resonators on the back side of the dpf...
glad I did it when I did - they've gone up a LOT in the last few months

but no intake as it won't help a stock or lightly tuned truck...

How do you like the sound of the DPF back exhaust from MBRP? is it much louder or deeper then stock also did you go with the 4in or the 5in exhaust

Thanks FTE for all the great info, you guys saved me a pile of cash, I was going to pull the trigger on some Banks stuff, and would not have liked it. For now I'm going to order a set of Bilsteins and save up for H&S. Thanks Again!
