2wd frt spacer

in order to lift my 86 f250 2wd to me it looks like its best to loose big centering bolt assembly in lower control arm and install a half to one inch shim. This is at the bottom of the coil spring. Is the way to lift my frt end??? or what?

Your frontend has the same geometry as the 4wd units. Any lifting throws it out of alignment, and if you go too far, the shop can't get it back in. You may be able to put a 1 inch spacer in there, and then get it aligned and be ok. I don't know if you could use a 4wd kit or not, and lift it 4 inches with the dropped brackets, pitman arm, etc.

I lifted an 83 E150 van using an F150 kit with no problems. The kit came with all the brackets needed (A-arm, TTB center mounts and pitman arm) 4 inches later she was on 33's.
