OK I am dropping in the 302 in the place of the six, I am trying to hook up the three speed linkage , and there is a little stud with a plastic ball that threads in to the block that hooks to the Z bar linkage. What is this part called? and where can I get one that has the correct thread to work with this 302?
It is called an engine side equalizer bar mount. They list new ones in the mustang catalogs. Whether or not that would work in your application, I don't know. I'm sure someone else will chime in with the answer.
Just checked my NPD truck catalog. They have it listed for 69-79 302. Part# F-7A535-1, cost $14.95. They also have the plastic ball. You can view their catalog online.

302 pivot will not work on a 240/300 bellhousing, wrong thread size.
The two plastic bushings are available from Ford C1AA-7543-A / Takes one on either side of the equalizer bar.
1969/79 F100/150 302 also uses a different clutch equalizer bar and frame pivot than 1965/79 F100/350 2WD 240/300 & 1965/76 F100/250 2WD & F350 352/360/390.
