So I am going to use something like this to bolt the pulley somewhere so it wont move, then use a bigolhonkin* wrench on the nut.

* - bigolhonkin is a ukranian word for large.
6.0... Better injectors, better turbo, more HP stock, better tranny, more comforts, better front end and on and on and on...
6.4... Well duh, happens to be the best diesel in a light truck on the road right now
6.7... Time will tell, but leaps and bounds above the 7.3, in EVERY SINGLE RESPECT...

Never heard that 6.4 comment either.
The 6.7 is a time will tell.
All my fellow members, thank you for your comments.

I'd have to disagree with all that. But we all have opinions.

Wouldn't give up my 7.3 for any of those!
I will say I like the 05-07 front ends a bit better, I'll agree to that.

First of all a more advanced part does not always make it better. Case in point the 6.0 turbo sure when it works right it is better than a STOCK 7.3 turbo. I don't think it better than a H2E on a 7.3. And don't you run a H2E? So you would know better than on I on that one.
And Yes they all make more HP from the factory but they all have "Clean Air" crap on them and to remove it you are breaking the law. Now my E99 only had a cat on it. I still have it but forgot to put it back on?!?
So if Indiana ever does like CA as far as smog stuff. The 7.3 is a safer bet.And lastly I have friends with 6.0, 6.4 and all they do complain about the mileage they get. And I just say well my old 7.3 gets better around town mileage than they get on the highway. And city 14.4 mpg and 18.2 highway on a stock tunes. And I'll hopefully improve on that with the lastest modds I have done.
Hey trey this is what I did to keep the pulley from moving while I used the wrench on the nut. Worked great the pulley didn't move. Strap wrench was a no go can't hold with one hand while trying to pull the wrench with the other.
Attached the ratchet strap to the underside of the alt looped around the pulley and attached to the frame on the other side by the headlight. Tightened it down and bam no problem then just released the strap when done and off it came. Hope it helps.

The new front end looks amazing!! It is on my bucket list for sure.. Now if I have already cut behind my stock headlights to make the 05 Harley lights work, I wouldn't need the new header panel, right?
Well, the new grille wont really fit right with out one.
You can do that if you keep the 99-04 bumper.
Well I hope we can a agree to disagree. And this just my thoughts on that statement.

The 6.4 with simple deletes can get you in the 18-20 mpg range for real, not the BS claims that 7.3 drivers tell you that they get 18-22mpg... Come on...
6.7, well as I said, time will tell. I don't think it will ever be a HP king, but who buys a 70k truck to try and do that...
I love the 7.3, hell I have a 7.3L injector tattooed on my arm, but I happen to be a realist about facts, every year these trucks get better and better and better. There has never been a year when they got worse.
I agree with this statement. Like he said, you dont hear anything about the (literally) MILLIONS of trucks that never have problems.
