Arm Rest Removal?

Arm Rest Removal?
'03 E250 with the factory highback seats, integrated folding arm rests--anyone removed these and left them off? What's the removal process?
I know similar after market seats push inward then rotate to release---not sure if the factory seats are the same.
I'm adding a heavy duty set of Cordura seat covers, my existing set don't have the arm rest provision and new Autoware covers will set me back about $290, which I'd like to avoid spending if possible.

I did pull the cover off and didn't immediately see anything other than a firm piece of foam, seemingly attached to the metal structure, didn't want to start yanking and possibly damaging the armrests.
My seats are in amazingly great condition so didn't want to create any avoidable problems.
