Well, I have done it now. I brought my old 78 (The Ford Truck From Hell) home Saturday. When I started her she blew water out the right side tail pipe to the tune of one gallon every minute or so. I drove it about 15 miles and then resorted to pulling it. We stopped when it stopped steaming out the pipe and added water. Pulled her down and all that was wrong was a blown head gasket. REALLY blown, no cracks or anything though. Didn't even score the pistions getting her that hot. I pulled the engine all the way down and figured now was the time to build her anyway. 375,000 miles is enough. Bad ridge, lots of wear but nothing bad,,,,,,,, Until I was pulling the water jacket drain plugs out and the block cracked. Oh well, newly reman engine will be in next week. Transmission too. It was still amazing how good it looked inside.
Incidently, I am up by Valparaiso. Small town of LaCrosse. Do you guys ever get to Attica?
Hey Guys, I have been busy last couple of days I just got the Model A home last nite. I used to live in Remmington so we went to Attica quite a bit Now I go to Lawrence county off road park It's in Bedford, You know how much Mothers like us close to home.
Do you guys go to the 4x4 jamboree here in Indy In Sept.

Never been to the jamboree in Indy, and I lived there from 91-93. I have never been to Attica for playing with the truck. Takle the dirt bikes and some friends and go. Its not bad.
Just ordered a new steering shaft for the Ford Truck From Hell. Don't know what to do about body work. Should go out and pull the trans and transfer case. I hve all the seals for the t-case. Should probably put in new yokes too. Even rebuild the rear drive shaft.
I was checking out your oil plug problem on my block. Never been into a 400 or 351. Rebuilt a 300 a few years ago then sold it. the guy had 100,000 on it and it still ran great. Used no oil and was really dependable. He just traded it for a trans am.
I was going to enter my truck in the show but the tornado came within a half block of my house and my truck was outside so we just drove up the next day Real nice show the swap meet was cool. Going to enter this year for sure should be fun hope to see you guys there.
Superdave, The tornado went within a couple of blocks of my house tore up Beechgrove pretty bad. My little brother and family live in Elletsville and it just missed them as well.
The atv park is right off 37 about 10 miles south of Bloomington its pretty good not as big as Attica. Your closer to Attica. I heard that somewhere over there by you is getting a new park maybe around Dugger I'll let you know if I here more.
The Model A fired up and ran last night for the frist time in 8 yrs that was pretty cool, Drove it around for a couple hours. Its a fun little car.

You wont have any trouble with your 400, while you got it down go ahead and do as much as you can, you'll thank yourself in the long run, I might have some body parts Ive got a couple parts trucks.
Sorry so long
P.S. The truck has made it to 500 miles whoo hoo no problems!!!!
Thanks for the info on the park south of Bloomington.
Yes the new park will be at Dugger. I used to go 4 wheeling in that area back in the mid to late 70's.
You can't do anything like that anymore though. Conservation Officer's love to write tickets. Even for driving through mud puddles on the side of gravel roads.
Not speaking from personal experience, but know people who have gotten tickets.
Snowfighter, thanks for the comments. I think I found some inner fenders for it. I need the plastic liners tot hem though. I'd like new fenders as mine have been cut. New grille and surround would be nice. Do youhave any of that and how much would you need for it?
I have a Jasper engine and C-6 sitting in the garage now. Getting the mounts, radiator is gone through, I will be kind of outo f budget by the time that is all done. I guess it will just get the floors and cab mounts replaced and I'll drive her for a year. I;ve had her for 10, let her go to a friend for a year. She's the best truck I've ever had. that includes 3 Chevy's purchased new and a 91 Ford purchased new. My best truck was probably my 85 Chevy K-10. Ran the best and I took better care of it than anything, I just never liked it. I bought this old piece of crap beater and nothing can compare!!
kcald1843, I think I have 3 complete doghouses I'll have to check
I won't charge you for one you'll just have to come and get it. Most of my parts are stored in Cincinnatti my cousin's barn, he has a 78 bronco 460 badass Truefully I don't know why we keep this stuff if I hurt my truck I would buy new. I really want a fiberglass one piece frontend with a cowl induction hood. I'll be there next wknd and I'll check and bring back what is good.I have to bring back a drivers fender for a guy at work.
SuperDave, thanks for the pic Nice real nice truck I recently sold a 80 bronco ( same body style) that i truly miss. If you could let me know when the park in Dugger opens I'll come and play a little.
P.S. I hope to meet both of you guys in person at the 4x4 jamboree in Sept.
I downloaded there regestration form to send in. They said it has to be regesitered before entering I think I'll call them this morning.
It don't make much since to me so far I just want to get the truck dirty.
