Hard 2-3 shift
I'm the owner of a 1998 Navigator 4x4-147000 miles- and this thing has such a hard 2-3 shift it snaps your neck and slams the driveline. The 1-2 shift is perfect , there is no slipping in any gear and the fluid looks great. I would like to fix it myself if I could and I would appreciate any info -thank you.

Start with a fluid and filter change. If that doesn't solve it then you're looking at disassembling the tranny to find the problem.
Your other option is to go to a tranny shop for a diagnosis. It might cost a few bucks but it could also save you by preventing you from wasting time and money on the wrong thing.
