Hello,
I have a 2012 fx4 crew cab ecoboost running 33 trail grapplers with leveling kit. I average 13.7-14.2 mpg. Think this is horrible. I have a f250 6.7 powerstroke on 37s with 6" lift that gets 14 mpg. I k is a couple folks with the 5.4 that get 15-6ish with the same set up. Other than fuel economy, the ecoboost is great!
What mpg are y'all getting? I am very disappointed. I am not seeing the improvement here...
Overall mixed average is just shy of 17 mpg and the past three tanks have been around 18 mpg. Hwy mpg usually settles in at 18-20 mpg depending on wind and speed. This is for a 2011 F150 Crew Cab Short Box 4x4 w/3.73's.
I have 2011 EB Fx4 supercrew and I get 18-20 with mixed driving. I have 285/65/18's nitto terra grapplers with NO leveling kit.
How loud are those tires when going down the road? I would hate to have tires that make all sorts of noise but want the added traction offroad. I wonder how well those tires would be on a slick boat ramp?
To the OP: 33's are pretty huge...also in your area are you going up and down lots of hills? milage is very subjective and what others get will not relate to your driving habits or surrounding area.
These tires are very quiet IMO and will really surprise you on how well they perform. As for the hills There aren't many hills in north Louisiana. I think I lost maybe 1 mpg when I put these 285/65/18's on my EB.
I have 1,750 miles on our 2012 FX4, Supercab, 5.5 bed, 3.73 rear axle with 20 inch tires/rims. Our gas mileage averages 15.5 to 17.5 mpg. I run 87 octain.
Although I only pull our boat (Tige 24V - 4,300 lbs) a very short distance - storage to boat ramp, the EcoBoost V6 performs very well. The mileage is about 12 mpg when towing.
I just averaged 21.5 mpg driving from Lake Texoma to Prosper (North Dallas) in my 2012 FX4x4, EcoBoost. Speed range was 45 to 68, due to a few small town speed zones.
I drove with the tail gate down, which does make a difference. This is why I'm going to get a truck bed cover. When the tail gate is in the up/closed position, logic tells me it acts like a parachute.
I now have 4,750 miles on our 2012 FX4, Supercab, 5.5 bed, 3.73 rear axle with 20 inch tires/rims. Our gas mileage averages 17 to 21 mpg, with an overall 18 mpg. I run 87 octain.
