I was following the riffraff directions to install the isspro dimmer switch on my new gauges and I come to the line that says locate the auxiliary idle control (aic) connector and take power from the red wire with yellow trace.
I've located the aic, but mine has 3 wires, a blue/green a brown/white and a red/gray. I'm pretty sure I'm not color blind (don't think I am), but am I missing a 4th wire, or is the red/gray the one I want?
Full disclosure: electricial not my strong point so small bumps in the road like this for me can be game over . Any help appreciated.
Jmaskew, I looked at your gallery (thank you) but it confirmed that I have a different wiring color than is in your pics and the riffraff pics it seems. Maybe it'll look better with fresh eyes tomorrow. But I'm confident I have identified the black box shown, and I have 3 wires. None of which are red/yellow.
William, I am putting in new gauges with a new dimmer all in one package. Reason I went with the extra dimmer was I read on the instructions that even with hooking up to the factory dimmer, they will never get fully reduced without it, and I do like a really dark cab when driving at night/early morning.
As mentioned in original post ... I have a lot to learn on wiring. Not my strong point, but I'll get there. Thanks for your help guys. Looking forward to getting these up and running.
