I'm in the process of installing a set (pryo/boost/tranny) of EV2's in my truck and have a wiring question. The kit have bought has the dimmer pot, aka potentiometer. The wires off the dimmer switch don't match the instructions: The instructions show 6 wires coming off the switch,
1. Short Black (goes to ground)
2. Short Orange w/Black tracer (goes to headlight dimmer)
3. Short Red (goes to 12v power keyed source)
4. Long Black (goes to gauges/ground)
5. Long Orange (goes to gauges/dimmer)
6. Long Red (goes to gauges power)
My switch does not have the red wires, but the kit did come with a long red wire zip tied, but not attached to, the switch.
I'm thinking I can just run the red wire from the fuse box directly to the gauges daisy chain style?
Anyone else have one of these installed? I've emailed MichaelP & David Murphy but have not heard back yet...
run the long red wire that's all by itself as the power daisy chained. Run the red wire from fuse number 4(warning buzzer, instrument illumination, etc..) and daisy chain it up the guages. run the orange wire w/ the black tracer from the Pot. to the number 10 fuse(instrument illumination). running those like that will allow you to use the pot to set the maximum brightness of the guages, then use your factory dimmer switch to dim the EV2's with the factory dash guages.
did the lighting work on them? with mine when you turn the key "on" the guages reset and come back up. don't need to start it to make sure the lighting works and they are reseting. the boost guage doesn't drop obviously b/c it's always on zero, but the EGT does.
my boost drops below zero to the peg and then goes to zero.
my peg is the zero on mine. haha. strange that yours isn't... i will have to double check mine now. i never look at boost anymore. always look at EGT, ICP, and oil temp. haha. might be b/c the boost guage is the top guage on my 3 guage pillar..
I am honestly tempted to pull the boost and put my scan gauge in there for now.
If i want boost, i can just select it on my scan gauge.
I run coolant, EGT and oil temp. I rarely look at the boost gauge too.
Need to keep an eye on that EGT gauge for me though, I was pushing 1300 the other night following katie.
I was like. WTF, no smoke? and then looked and saw 1300. I was like. Oh..... Right.

i wish i could say i only see 1300*.... if i get on it decent in my big tune i see 1600 by the time i get to around 80mph... after a full pass down the drag strip it takes a second or 2 for the needle to come off of the peg. probably shoulda gotten a 2000* pyro.. haha

Success! Got them working. They don't sweep when I turn the key on, but took a quick spin and the egt's & boost looked they they were doing their thing. The tranny temp didn't move, but it's cold outside and I didn't drive very long...
I'm going to send a note to Isspro with some suggested changes to their
wiring instructions!

i was tempted to send them an email on their instructions, but after i read them the 2nd time i completely understood what needed to be done so i didn't do it. get a little more drive time to make sure the tranny temp is working, but great job getting them working!!!
