SpaceX failed this morning (Sat). They attempted to launch a rocket that was to dock with the ISS and return to earth.
They aborted with a half second left, due to an overpressure on one of the nine engines. They will retry soon -- I think that I saw something about Tuesday.
Hope they make it - the US has no means to get to the ISS by itself.
I think that NASA gets a bum rap, but I do think that space has to go private at some point. SpaceX is one of several companies that are trying to bring the cost down. ( and eventually make a buck )
Private space exploration is coming, probably will start with tourism.
One of the biggest things standing in the way of private exploration is Space Lawyers. But there are massive amounts of precious metals out there.
Yeah, you heard me right. Lawyers are already controlling what goes on in outer space.
Yeah I'm hoping for a successful launch and mission for them----always rooting for the small guy, especially when they're competing with NASA!
I wonder if anyone sees the irony Elon Musk who founded PayPal made enough money from eBay to start launching rockets to the ISS? NOW I know where my fees paid to them really goes!
