Heading to a campground today, info center comes on stating pull over safely or something similar. Barely make it to the side of the road and the truck just shuts off. No crank, no start, I think the computer shut everything down.
2008 job 1 with 75k miles. Had it towed to the dealer but they are closed until Monday. My biggest fear is the dreaded HPFP and I will be royally bent over by Ford. Anyone had something similar happen and should I lube up before head to the dealer Monday.
Thanks to Fords horrible and roadside service I was on the side of the road with wife, 2 kids, and a dog for 4 hours. It never started and I would think it would have cooled enough in 4 hours. When you turn the key on the "pull over safely" message remains and when you turn the key, nothing. No crank no anything. My guess what ever code it threw the computer locked everything down.
Should be under warranty for 100,000 miles, right?
I hope so. They still have not figured what is wrong. I had to authorize a $200 diagnostic fee in case it ends up not covered but I cannot imagine something that created this not being covered. Unless it is some sensor or something not considered part of the "engine" warranty.
According to the dealer, the specific one that failed was not while the other two are. Go Figure! $550 ticket after tow fees. But, he spoke with Customer Service and they took care of the whole bill under warranty.

Call Ford CS. I wouldn't throw it in their face and demand coverage, but I think their could be potential recourse if Ford covers one and not another. Politely state that you are aware of others being covered and you feel that Ford is doing you a great disservice by choosing not to cover yours.
