ignition switch

I've got a 96 bronco. Turned the key and nothing happened, figured it was the lock cylinder, put a new one in, no change. Noticed that when i turn the key all the way back that it doesnt turn the electronics off. Thinking that the piece that slides in the column is broken. Any ideas on what this piece is called and if its easy to get a hold of

Hmmm, this was a bigger issue on the older (generation 4) Bronco and F-series. I've not heard too many instances of that particular part failing in the newer trucks. However, that means little if yours has failed. The part is often referred to as an ignition actuator link or arm. Again, since I've never replaced on in a newer truck, I'm not familiar with the way its mounted. I can have a look at it in the morning as I have a steering column out of a 93 sitting on the workbench right now.
