A/c enigmas
Howdy y'all. I put an ac system on my truck that I pulled off of another truck. The system was tight and working when I took it off. I had to build some custom bracketry it looks something like this.
Two Yorks, one for ac one for air.
But here is my problem. The ac only compressor doesn't cycle, it runs constantly, the other problem is the compressor freezes up, not the evap but the compressor. It doesn't stop turning it just is very cold to the touch and builds up a layer of ice.
What would cause this?
I put 3 cans of freeze 12. (I have had good luck with freeze 12 in the past. ). Could this be too much? Too little?
The other thing I did that I can think of is I installed an expansion valve for a different vehicle it looks the same and has the same hose connections, but it's for pre 76 vehicles. Not necessarily fords.
Air blows cold but I think it could be colder, and I'm pretty sure the compressor isn't supposed to ice over.
