Ignition problem?

So I took my 74 f-250 for a tour it was running great until I stopped and turn it off turned the key and it would crank but was a know go
So I banged on the .... I think it's the ignition module on the inside front right fender, correct me if I'm wrong and then I cranked it 2 more times and it started so I'm thinking this is my problem. Is there anyway to test it or is this the problem?

Doubtful. Sounds like your voltage regulator or solenoid relay in that location. If it's your solenoid relay, the wire on "I" term of it could have been loose. Only thing I can think of that would have fixed it.
