c4 question

took out my c4 for rebuild and found this rod thing anybody know where it came from??

Looks like the small rod the works with the vacum modulator, perhaps somebody changed it at some time and it fell out and they put in a new one.

fordgirl I thinks your right could this be the reason it wasnt going into gear? because one end is really messed up.

That's what it looks like to me also, and yes, would not shift well without that in there.

If the modulator vavle did not have the rod in it, that would make you think it needed rebuilt? could that be the reason for the rebuild? if so? the shop would have noticed and told you before they rebuilt the trans? ie, it would have not shifted right!..hope that is not the case?
