Curious about what happened, but after two days of towing, everything going great, start off in southern Colorado and boost is down(<5) and egts higher. From Houston 'till then, boost was normally 7-8 at 65, would go up to 12-15 when slight accel or hill. Would know for sure because Wicked wheel does whistle! This is a 12k 5vr and 60t tunes. Noticed fuel psi down to 50-55, usually around 60. EGT's get 1100-1300 pretty easily, really had to watch throttle on hills. I looked at the boots when we stopped, nothing obvious, but we are settled now so I will have time to check further.
Thoughts?
We are an hour out of Fort Collins, and if an AE would help maybe a selling point with wife.
Thanks.
Sounds like elevation... He is used to driving at 1000' or less, and now is at 6000' or more. Now try driving across wyo... fun fun fun...
Awe come on Joe, really? I did think of that, but thought there are ways for the engine, etc to compensate.
Now, we did start yesterday at 6200, but it was running fine getting there.?? Just saying.
I am completely and whole-heartedly in Joe's camp on this one. The tune is dialed for xyz air density and temperature, but it takes live tuning or a special "high altitude" tune to compensate for when things go that far out of whack. My 60e was blowing slight coal while cruising at 7000-8000 feet and making nasty puffs after the light. I dropped to stock tune and just endured the whimpiness. I have since repaired my MAP sensor, and I may get different results when I return to that elevation no later than Thanksgiving weekend.

there is no way to compensate for less air.
just watch it good and have fun.
There is a guy in colorado that could put some sweet tunes on your chip... if you had a different chip... LOL
Yeah yeah. Pretty sure "my guy" can handle it, just wish I would have considered that before.
Pretty bummed about what looks like the cause, towing this darn trailer is why most of the mods get done, for me anyway. And we love the west!

Thanks. You guys really make me regret getting an F5 instead of an F6.
Looks like another conversation with Jody and crew. And visit to the mail box.

Water Injection my friend... I use about 15 gallons or so driving from FT Collins to Salt Lake when I have to pull thru there...
Its nice to just turn it on and let the cruise control do the work.
