Floor/Defrost door issue

I have a 1995 F150 that I cannot get to blow heat/air on the floor. Defrost and vent air comes out great. After much digging, I discovered that the vacuum pump that connects to the heater door for floor heat is not staying connected to the door arm itself. The vacuum pump has a flat metal bar that slides into a plastic slot on the door arm. When I move the selector **** from floor to defrost or vice versa, the bar on the vacuum pump just slides in and out of the door arm thus not opening or closing it. What is supposed to hold those two parts together? Is there a plastic clip or something broken off or missing? I cannot seem to find a Ford dealer in my area that can pull up a diagram of this and am stumped and nobody seems to know what I am talking about. I am not opposed to tearing the dash apart if I need to replace something on the heater door, I just want to know what part(s) I need before I dig in that far.

Anyone that can shed some light is greatly appreciated!!!!!

Thanks!
Josh

i cant tell you exactly how it connects, but the thing your talking about is a vacuum CYLINDER that connects to the door. Motor vacuum is directed to the cylinders (dash, floor, defrost) thry the selector ****/ ports on the dash switch. THe small cylinders stroke open or closed with the vacuum.
