Quick background on truck. Bought an 05 6.0 at auction for work, 205k on the clock, actually in pretty good shape. Was running rough on cold starts, found out FICM voltage was low, pulled it and fixed, truck started and ran great. Week or two goes by, started to notice hard starts when warm. Checked ICP pressure (using AE, btw), found it low at startup. Got the engine torn down right now, we're doing STC, rebuilt oil cooler and BPD EGR cooler while we're there, also standpipes and dummy plugs.
Question is the new standpipes are 7 or 8" long and what came out of the oil rail is only about 3"? Bottom part of the new piece looks almost like an extension tube of some sort, but shouldn't it have come out when we backed out the old standpipe? What am I missing here?
stand pipes are 2 peices.you have to remove lower half from engine.they dont always stay together.if it came a part you will have to remove oil rail(manifold) to remove lower half.unless you have a tool to get to it.

So far, so good. Passenger lower rear 2 bolts near condenser box are a pain. Finally got em with a T30 bit and a 1/4" box wrench. Driver's side to go, and then start putting it back together. Keeping my fingers crossed.
