Sure, but not as valuable as those who have used more than one!

I think most people will agree that going from a stock truck to a superchips programmer will make the average Joe very excited - but anyone who has used a 'generic' programmer like that AND a chip from a 'custom' tuner will know the generic toons weren't all that great...

You really don't know what you're missing until you try the grass on the other side of the fence. Tuning these trucks is very complicated to say the least and the handful of popular tuners do not do things the same way. I too was happy with and even promoted my first tuner - now I know better.

Absolutely Jason, I agree. And while this post isn't meant to split hairs, that isn't what you said, and I just wanted the OP to keep an open mind and not discount a persons input due to your assertion.

I'm not trying to discredit you bro, or put you down, so please don't take it that way. You know how posts cannot infer voice tone and body language so don't take my post as being negative. I think I understand what you're trying to convey...without any bashing....and that's to be commended. I just don't want the OP to discount anyone's opinion, that's all.

I'll tell people I use Jody at DP-Tuner. I'll let them know I have some of Jody's original tunes on my Excursion and it's still going strong, and that he's live-tuned my F250 and I couldn't be happier. But I've also recommended Bill at PHP, Tony Wildman, Swamps, and Brians son at Tyrant Diesel, formerly BTS tuning because there are those here that have posted glowing reports after running their tunes.

Speaking about BTS, pretty much everyone know's I'm a big John Wood fan. I run his trans in my Ex and his valve body in my F250, and I'm sure I will eventually get a trans from him for my 250 too. But you'll also see me talk very highly about BTS and his trans build, even though I've never seen one of his transmissions, much less owned one.

My point is, even though its true I've never owned a BTS trans, my opinion is no less important than someone who may have owned both transmissions...or had more than one tuner...and my opinion shouldn't be viewed as "not a very good source of information."

Point taken. I do have a strong opinion about tuning based on what I've learned and I see how my post was a bit pointed.
