bowhunter1331,

UGA33 hit the nail on the head. There is no other choice!

If you have read the previous threads you already know this. Also stay far away from Any "chip/inline fuel module" (ie Banks, Edge, Dr.P etc), they spell death for the 6.0 & Torqueshift.

You want a "tuner" with custom tunes. SCT XcalII with custom tunes from Matt at LIPD.

Matt has specific ecno tunes, but gas mileage will very based on your driving style and load. Heavier foot will decrease your gas mileage, as will running above 2k RPM.

Wink On the lighter side...

If it's a good chip that you want, I recommend Cool Ranch Doritos. They are awesome, and they won't mess up your truck (upholstery excepted)... If I had the $$ I would get the SCT & the Doritos!

Ask Super Steve. I would leave your truck alone. I did not put in a tuner and I'm plenty happy but to each his own.Good Luck

Super Steve proved once again how crappy the Edge is and how hard it is on 6.0 & Torqueshift transmissions.

EDIT: I also never ran the truck with the edge by itself, I had it stacked with a custom tranny tune by innovative diesel. I never would have left the truck stock tho, but it sure was fun while it lasted.

I now use my high horspower tune from innovative and the edge monitor to monitor the engine (obviously)

I'm using a Hyperpac on my 05 and it supplies loads of power. I have gotten opinions from multiple mechanics who say this programer is mild enough not to do damage to the engine. I added the programer at 79000 and now my truck has 94000 on it with no problems and it pulls like a tractor! Also, the hypertech programers do not have towing limitations and do not have the defueling problems that some of the other programers have.

Does your Hyperpac tune include tranny config's? Or is it just a engine tuner?
