Rust and Chrome Wheels
I searched and found two pretty old threads on this topic (one from 2001). So, I thought I would re-ask the question as I travel somewhat frequently to the coast and fish in saltwater bays, so I'm concerned about saltwater and chrome wheels.
Has there been any improvements over the last decade that can help with rust from both a preventative and a reactive position?

As far as preventative, I spray WD40 on my chrome rims before winter here, and after I wash my vehicles in winter I spray WD40 on them again before they hit the road. I also wax them in the other seasons. As far as removal, A little surface rust can come off with a scotchbrite pad. Some people will say steel wool can take off the rust, but it scratches the rims.
