Heck, here in the dfw area, most of the blondes can't see their speedometers due to certain 'airbags' they had installed
and drive their M classes like you have no right being on 'their road'
My wife has those kind of air bags installed, they are awesome.
Come to think of it, she's a terrible driver, maybe a connection? Maybe there should be a study into this? LOL .
As much as I like to talk about women's body modifications (my wife's in the stock class tho) I notice that lots of guys tow a bit faster than I'm comfy with, my Dad included. I've been in one trailer accident many years ago and don't ever care to experience that again, so I keep my speed at 65 or less when towing heavy.
I figure the faster you go the faster the tires get hotter and run the risk of blowing and who wants to ruin their trailers or risk killing yourself or the family on the road with you. If you want to race with your trailer take it to the track.
we tow a horse trailer (9000lbs-11,000lbs with LT tires) and usually go between 55 and 65. After that the time you save going faster is not worth the extra fuel and the risk of a wreck or ticket (55 limit in CA). At times we would hit 70-75 coming down a nice hill (multiple lanes and plenty of space ahead) and slowly come down to 55-65.
There are plenty of a-holes (pulling loads big & small) going 75+ and weaving in-out of traffic...

That is one twisted way to present better drivers
I calculated that going from 70 to 75 mph for each saved hours I burn $40 worth of fuel. Normally I don't make that kind of money while sitting, so unless I have a deadline I stay low for economy.
One of the things everybody seems to bypass is the info what kind of trailer he is towing. My dovetail equipment trailer tracks perfect and never had fishtailing problems. Than I know lot of travel trailers need WD and sway bars just to stay between the curbs at 50 mph.
If you don't feel comfortable at the speed you're at, slow down; don't try to drive faster just to show you know how.
Just cause you drive faster does not equate in any way that you are a better driver, it just means that you have decided to go faster weather it's a good idea or not.
