I have a 2001 F-150 XLT 4x4 5.4L supercab. I noticed that on the top of the rearend, there are wires going into it. Are these for the speed sensor or something? I've never seen wiring to a differential before. It is a 9.75" 3.55 Traction-Loc rearend.

Thanks. Does it read off of the ring gear or does it have a abs type wheel in the rearend? If it reads off of the ring gear, does it go by the teeth or is it a special ring gear with sensors on it?

There is a tone wheel behind the ring gear. I will upload a picture of a 10.75 rear which is similar, to my gallery.
