I picked up a bottle of def yesteday as I was low. Tried to pour it in and it will not fill. I tried it in the parking lot at ford dealer so a mechanic came out and could not pour it in either. He says something must be blocking it. How could that be possible? I have filled it myself twice before otherwise its only been done during service.
Any help or advise would be appreciated. I have somewhere I should be this weekend but can't drive there now.
BTW its a 2011 6.7 w/ 68000kms on it.
Hi, thanks for the welcome. I was a supporter on here as Frisco the Dog in the past. I used to frequent the 6.0 forums.
It was yesterday afternoon and their deisel guys couldn't squeeze me in. From what I can see the hose looks fine underneath. If I kinda pump squeeze it the stuff does go in, barely. It would likely take about 2 hours to fill that way. I kinda gave up after spilling enough of the overflow
Yeah, I don't have any idea what would cause blockage.
DEF drys out but not that bad.
Almost seems as if someone stuffed something in there.
I don't know if the filler hose can be easily disconnected from the tank without any damage or long term issues.
I haven't looked at it that closely.
If it could be, then you could run a dowel rod or something through the hose while someone holds the hose straight.
I think your safest option is to schedule some time with your dealer.
And please let us know when you do get this fixed.
