window problem

Ok my front passenger window will roll down to a certain point and bog down to a certain point then will go all the way down. I took the door panel off and Theres no way of even heading anything. Has anybody else had this problem and what did you do to fix it

I have the exact same issue. When it’s cold out the window goes about half way and stops. When it’s been out in the hot weather for a few hours it seems to work fine. I generally hold the button down and it works but if I let it go on its own it stops. I took the door panel off and tried to put some grease on the gears as I moved the window up and down as I had visions of getting my finger chopped off in the gears. I hope somebody chimes in with a good idea as I have relegated myself to just deal with it. The fix would not be so difficult to figure out if I could only get access to the entire system behind the sheet metal.

On mine it was the brushes in the motor that were all dirty and sticking. Here is a write-up I did on it: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...with-pics.html

Yup... My drivers side does it, the auto down stops now about half way. I "fixed" it for a while last summer with a bunch of WD-40 and such, but its back to its old ways.

My window motor was getting water/moisture in it. WD40 would fix but kept happening. Replaced motor and mostly leave in garage. No more problem.

That write up was very helpful,I didn't think to remove the speaker to access the motor. Looking forward to replacing it now

Try white lithium spray in the window channels.
No need to take panels off. Works great, cheap, and easy. I have to do it every couple of years.

the only reason you would need to change out the regulator is if its broken...
