if that was the case, then why isnt the guy in texas who shot an killed 2 mexican guys who were breakin into his neighbors house in jail then. hell, he was on the phone with 911 when he shot them, if i remember right.
think i heard about it on a morning radio show thats based in dallas texas.
your right he didn't go to jail but he did get fined a lot of money plus had to hire a lawyer. but he was also an old man
thtas the guy that was watcing the house next door. cort deamed that the house was under his conttrool, he had a right ot be there. there ones that got hit were B&E and trespassing.
Now, when it comes to defending myself an my family. I will shoot ANYONE who threats my family. An I WILL NOT shoot to wound. I have about 14 guns an alot of ammo. I'm not some one of those crazy worlds coming to a end you better stock up now people.
Y'all will have to please excuse my rant. I have very strong views on my gun rights an on my right to defend myself, my family an my property against ANYONE who tries to harm or take anything I have worked very hard to get in my life.
well, we now have a case in florida that is going to probably change
things a lot. the law of unintended consequences is about to come into play.
states vary widely in what is legal, lawful, or justified.
and it's none of my business what anyone does anywhere, except to the
extent that it affects me..... but i'd be cautious about making any statements
on a public forum that were traceable to me regarding my intent to use
deadly force.
that isn't directed at you personally. just a matter of general practice.
hopefully nobody here has to defend themselves in court in a self defense
shooting.... but one post on a public forum can make that a lot more
difficult. under the best of circumstances, it's traumatic.
as for gun control in general, i like stringent gun controls, in that i
like shooting 6PPC, and i like the level of control that lets me hit
animal crackers at 100 meters.... head shots, of course, on the elephants.
as for controls to limit my choice to shoot, well, i'm not so partial to that.
So true Cheezit...My truck got broken into at the Candlewood Suites in Garland on New Years Eve years back...the got most all my tools, about $2K in Fluke test equipment, but left a $4K High Potentiometer Tester (Insulation Tester for heavy electrical motors and generators)...guess they didn't know what it was or was spooked. Told the investigating cop that I was going to get a CHL...he said "what for?...you have the right to protect your property and if the gun isn't registered (was my late step fathers), don't do it, they'll just know where to pick it up if they pass gun laws"...I was under the impression it was just home related...didn't know it included PERSONAL PROPERTY
you sound like a sparky... i've got a lot of similar stuff in my work van.
probably about $40k worth, all told.
here's what i'm using:
viper smartstart, with added enhancements.
the battery voltage gets low, i get a message.
the batteries get disconnected, i get bunches of alarms.
i can start, stop, locate, lock, unlock from my cellphone.
the key fob is good almost to a mile, and the cellphone
anywhere i have service that supports text messages.
anyway, that's my solution, and it's working pretty well for me.
