timing problem?
i have a 1985 f-150 with the 300 4.9 strait 6 with the dual port offenhouser intake holly 390 4 barrel and dual outlet hooker header. it has been sitting for about a year, i maybe drove 4 times in that year at about 10 miles a trip. im workin on my other pickup right now so i have been driving this one for about 3 days now. today i filled up with 87 octane with 10% ethanol witch i never do i always put 91 in it. anyways i drove about 5 miles parked it for about an hour, drove 3 miles parked it for about 30 minutes and then drove about 1/8 of a mile and it had no power all of a sudden and only goes to about 1000 rpm's with my foot to the floor. even in neutral. my buddy said maybe i jusped a gear on my timing, or maybe gummed up the carb. i have no clue what happened, any ideas?

"...10% ethanol..." That is most likely the problem with an engine that sits without running for some time. Once you get the system cleaned out, add STA-BIL to the gas if it's going to sit around without running for awhile. Or, if there is non-ethanol available in your area, use it. BTW, why use 91 octane?$$$
