My serpentine belt started being squeaky a few weeks back. I replaced the plastic tensioner and the noise seemed to go away. I checked the belt thoroughly, and it appears to be in great shape (it should be, as it only has about 10k on it).
Anyway, now, paticulary in the mornings or when the truck is "cold" I am hearing squeaking from the same area. I am going to guess there are some other pulleys I should take a look at or have repaired. Any good pointers on where to start?
Has your belt tensioner ever been replaced? I had a situation where the tensioner went bad, and in the process, stretched the belt. After replacing the tensioner, the old belt squeaked occasionally. Comparing to a new belt, I found the old belt to be about a half to an inch longer. Replacing with the new belt fixed the problem.
