EGR Delete

Last time I asked this I had no responses...so maybe its a dumb question...
I'm ready to do an EGR delete on my truck...so Ill prevent any problems in the future.

What kit is bad what kit is good?

EGR Delete Kit. 2003 Ford Powerstroke 6.0 Liter EGR Delete Kit

6.0 Upgraded EGR Cooler | MKM Customs 6.0L Ford Powerstroke EGR Delete Kit

or BPD

And what is the time frame to do this?

I've got Sinister from MKM Customs...came with OEM gaskets and oil cooler. If you're going to do it yourself, its quite a job and you should be very comfortable working on engines. I took my time when I did mine myself and cleaned up my engine as I was working...did mine over 2 weekends (obviously didn't drive the truck all week).

So you did the oil cooler at the same time?

YES...you're pulling EVERYTHING off the top of the engine and it's right there in the "V"...comes with one of the MKM kits...I was worried about saving money and didn't want to do it, but was convinced by several techs in here that it was the way to go...looking back, I don't regret it at all...BUT...make sure if you do it, that you don't screw that up...it's the difference between a job well done or an engine block well done...

I believe there are 2 different sized o-rings (thickness) for the oil cooler, just have to make sure that the right o-rings go on the correct side...If I remember correctly, they're pretty close to the same size, but it does matter. If you're gonna do it, just be sure to check and double check...I had no help when I did mine (aside from the guys here), so it took a little longer, and I've never had my truck apart to that extent before...was a little nerve racking to say the least...Have seen horror stories on here about people doing an egr delete by themselves and destroying their engines...believe the last one I saw was titled "What's it called, mines melted"...wasn't a pretty thread...felt bad for the guy...

Benny,
I need an oil cooler also, checked that # (3C3Z6A642CA) at Tousley and p/n search shows it fits '08, '09, and '10 E-350 (oddly, with a 6.0 is that right??!). Is that going to work on my '06 F-250? I would love to get one at that price. Cheapest I found was $315, local dealer was $374.99.

I thinking MARKs Oil Cooler part# is Good

All oil coolers the same AFAIK and would have heard of a diff style oil cooler by Now IMO

Call and ASK mention internet Cuz only thing that Bothered me was Part# pointed to Housing But I really dont think thats IT. Im thinking the 250.00 one is the Oil Cooler Brick/GUTS and is what you want

That Higher Price one is the OIL Cooler & Housing and Only really early 03 need to change

I really Like this Egr Kit^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ if I had to do it again this what I would use

The Kicker to these EGR Deleate kits is weather to change up pipe vs cap as some neweer had a Scoop for Flow to EGR Cooler partly blocking uppipe

My 03 has NO SCOOP in UPPIPE

It was kinda a PIA to change that Upipe back against fire wALL but doable

I really Like this Kit though really what I should have used

Your number was correct. Gave Tousley a call this morning and their site is jacked on the application on that part. The part is on order. Thanks
(price was up a little @ $249)

For real, was the 6.0 available in a 2010 E-350?

EGR help with delete kit please?

We bought a 06 f-250 24-25 months ago.

Had a very tinny oil leak at the rear left head, decided to use warranty to fix before it ran out.

Work done at Newport Oregon Power Ford.

Truck had 5 issues before we purchased. (4 + years)

We had work done 13 months after getting it.

It has been back to shop every month since then, first was due to bolt missing on the turbo,,,,keep in mind now that my factory warranty is over now and it is the extended warranty now with $100.00 deductible every time it is used. @$1,300.00.

just about every injector i believe has been replaced at 2-3 at a time and 3 with fuel pump last September.

Multiple EGR lights since, replaced Thermostat once as a fix but less than 48 hours the light was back on again as well as the next 3 times, $100.00 each shot.

2 weeks (AGO) the EGR was replaced AGAIN, they rolled back millage because their in house warranty on last EGR I had to pay for, was over by about 2-3 thousand but with in time limits, 2 days ago it was towed in to shop and now it needs EGR cooler replaced and oil cooler replaced and extended warranty wont cover it even though contract says EGR not covered,,doesn't say any thing about cooler or oil coolers, it is because it is associated with the EGR,,,,$2,300.00 is what they want.

We are waiting for a brand new factory special order truck to replace this POS. it will be here mid to end of June, using for small part of trade in.

I need a fix such as a delete kit that will not light up the dash but cheap as hell, i do not like sounding like an *** but till you live it, please don't judge it.
