my rig blows cold *ICE*cold air in what I assume to be just the vent/ fan setting.. (to the right not the left on A/C) Im going to unplug my A/C compressor and check for power applied when its turned to just vent and see if and when it turns off...
just wondering becuse I burn a 1/4 of a GPH more running the fan or the A/C alike... and I like to just run with the Vent on sometimes and not sacrifice my fuel.
The AC compressor runs in all positions except OFF, VENT, and FLOOR. I think you're describing the bi-level setting, which is floor and vents. The AC compressor runs in that position by design.
Everything to the right of "OFF" has the compressor running. The only "vent" you have is the first one left of "OFF" (between off & A/C). Therefore if you want any of the settings to the right & you don't want cold air just turn the thermostat to a warmer position until you get the temp you want.
