need help replacing fuel line for weed eater

The fuel line for my weed eater split, and I am trying to replace it. I bought a universal kit that had 2 different sizes in it,but I can't get the new hose onto the fitting on the carb. It was a VERY tight fit coming off,I actually had to cut it off. I am looking for any suggestions that don't include setting the damn thing on fire

Try putting a little oil on it or heat it so it is pliable

Oh yeah don't use an open flame to heat it..LOL

Take a piece of the old gas line and go to your local hardware store or small engine repair shop and have them match up the size of the gas line for you. I just replaced all the gas lines on both of my Ryobi's.

I dipped mine in liquid soap and fed them into the fuel tank and on the carb fitting. Once you're done she'll run good as new.

Stick a pencil into the line momentarily to get it started ...

Mine have a small metal sleeve on the ends of each line too
