I have a 2002 F250 with the diesel and manual shift transfer case and have lost indication on my dash of 4x4 engaged. Is there an actuation switch external to the transfer case that I can replace / clean or inspect? Or is it inside and not serviceable unless removed from the truck. Both lights do not work (4x4 or Low range) but truck still goes into gear. Thanks in advance.
possible, but not likely both bulbs are burnt out unless by some remote chance theres a short that blew the bulbs and/or fuse. - you'd think more components would be out of whack if a fuse was blown though. Seems like there can be 15 circuits on one little 10amp fuse in these trucks
Well, checked the plug. With the help of this forum, found it on top of the transfer case. I pulled the plug and inspected, then plugged it back in ensuring it was seated well, still no lights. I may try to replace the switch. It looks to screw in from the top. I also do not really NEED the lights to work, it is just when you get a new toy, you climb all over it and try to fix everything you find wrong in an effort to get to know the vehicle. Like 77Mud said, I know when it is engaged, there is no doubt about that, I just wanted to fix everything I could. Thanks for all yalls help.
