5.0 intake.

So I'm swapping the carb for an EFI system. I have a few things I need help with. The first being the difference in the intake that has 5.0 V8 on it and the other style that just says ford. And they look nothing alike. Is that a mustang vs a truck intake? When I figure out how to upload pics via iPhone I'll toss some up

What vehicle are you putting this in?

There are 3 basic OEM Ford 5.0EFI intakes available and there are hugh differences in the amount of air they flow. The smallest of the bunch is the 5.0HO version from the Mustang, this intake won't make big HP but it's great for a stock motor and will make best low rpm Tq.

The next biggest is the version from the Explorer/Mountaineer(middle of pic), this one flows 50-75cfm/port more than the HO and is therefore good for 350hp, and although it looks very similar to the HO at a glance the runners are larger and staggered.

The biggest of the group is the truck version, this thing flows 200cfm/port unported and has dual throttlebodies equavelent to a 72mm single which is more than the other two. This intake is several inches taller than the other two however so it may introduce hood clearance issues.. depending what vehicle it's going in.

This last pic shows all 3 lowers side by side to emphasize the port differences, left to right you have the HO, Truck, and Explorer. Also note that there isn't more than an inch difference in total runner length between all of these so they all support the same basic powerband range.. 0-5000rpm but are optimal for different engine displacements.
