Here it is, the thing you have been waiting for...
Well I picked up a 96 Explorer GT-40 5.0L intake. It's pretty much the best flowing factory intake for a 302.
I will have to cannibalize some parts from my Mustang intake so I can get everything to work correctly.
Doing a little research. Looks like I will have to use the EGR spacer and part of the throttle shaft from the mustang intake to make everything work correctly. I will have to bore the EGR spacer from 60mm to 65mm. The Explorer 90 degree bend won't fit my Mustang valve covers and plus it is slightly ugly. The sweet thing I like is it looks like an aftermarket intake plus I won't run into too many guys that have one either.
I got this from a guy in Saskatoon and although $300 is slightly steep but HP costs $$$.
While the Modular engines are good but they aren't user friendly to work on. Every try to set the the cams on one? Plus they are big dimensionally and they won't fit in anything with out major modifications. To me I would be taking a step back.
i'll have to take your word for it and agree. any performance enhancing things for my modular will be strictly bolt on, the 351 will be different though!!
Browsing the internet I found these:
It is perfect for what I need to make the intake work properly. Now to find a 86-92 Crown Victoria or Mustang throttle body to steal the throttle linkage. I don't really want to part out my Mustang intake setup since it makes it harder to sell.
