Exclamation Bluespring installation instructions?

I have an 05 F350 King Ranch 4x4 6.0. Bought it new. After 187000 miles, 2 HPOP's, ARP's, EGR Delete, new turbo, 4" turbo back, I still have rough-running issues. I made a commitment to keep this truck, but I am gonna have to turn the wrenches on it now as I can't afford the shop. Ed at FICMRepair.com said it could be injectors, FICM, or maybe need a bluespring. He convinced me to get a scanguage 2. Best thing I have done, wish I would have done sooner. I also ordered the bluespring. I did get some bad FICM #s off the guage, so sent it to Ed. He's doing the PHP Atlas 40 as well. I want to wait to put the FICM back in and drive it before I do the bluespring so I can see if that's what caused the rough running issue. I got it from Tousley Ford yesterday, but am at a loss as to how to install the thing. I could figure it out on my own but don't want to go in blind. Anyone know of a link to some instructions on how to put this thing in? What exactly does it do as opposed to the factory setup? Is this a good time to change the fuel filters as well (is there going to be diesel all over the driveway anyways)? Regardless of the results with the new FICM, I'm doing the spring too, so would appreciate any input.

The search function doesn't always get you where you need to be. This is a good writeup that should help you.

So I can just take out the screws and pull the thing away? I got the full kit, didn't know you could get it with just a spring till I read Rusty's post.

Go ahead and replace the front cover with the one in your kit. It's fairly straight forward. If you bought the kit with the cover, it comes with extra parts that are for 03 trucks. Disregard them.

Yeppers, not to jinx ya but you can bend the fuel lines even with two wrenches so why take the chance?

If you have a small socket wrench and the socket to fit the screws it will make removing them much easier and faster. Also, you may want to use a piece of aluminum foil just underneath to catch any small parts that you may drop. Speaking from experience on both...had the small socket wrench and did not have the Al foil.

Just remember too that the old spring does still have tension on it while removing the cover.

The stronger spring will raise your fuel pressure approximately 20 PSI which will help prevent fuel starvation at the injectors. If you have a fuel pressure gauge you may find that you are seeing 30-40 psi now and after the upgrade 55-65 psi. See the link below.

SuperTommy68 - I just picked up the bluespring from Tousely yesterday and installed in about 20 minutes. I was able to flex the radiator hose down enough to loosen the torx screws but I had to break them loose by putting a torx bit in my vise grips because of the limited room by the radiator hose. The rest was simple and the improvement amazing. I've spent over $2,000 over the past 2 years trying to solve my hard starting issues and this seems to have done it for $50.

I just did the Blue Spring upgrade on my 03 and it seems to be doing better sure sounds better under the hood. Worth it 100%, i do not have a gauge (Can't afford one) but seems to be doing something for sure.
