Hey does anyone know anybody that makes an axle tube brace for the 8.8, my buddy just spun his center section today on his stock F 150 and I'm a little worried about mine know.
Unless you do some serious off-roading I can't think why you'd need one. Those Mustang guys run the sh** out of their 8.8's without them.
Someone does make one for a Mustang, and you should be able to adapt it to your truck. It comes with an aluminum rear cover that allows you to preload the bearing caps and some adjustable tubes that you mount to the cover and weld some tabs to the housing near the brake backing plates. This allows you to adjust the preload of the tubes. All you should have to do is make the adjustable tubes longer.
I'm sure someone makes one for the trucks. I don't know, I'm a drag-racer.
Yea, mine is a 2wd street truck. I already have the preload axle cap on there and around 2 grand i other ##### just in the rear end. Do you know who makes the brace and where i can buy it
just have the axl tubes welded to the center section. if its built right youll never break that rear. my truck makes over 500ft lbs. runs 12.00s in the qtr on slicks. it cuts 1.67 short times and ive never broke the rear or even spun the tubes. and mine arent welded to the center section. rancho also makes a torque arm setup that works great. they are 4ft bars which bolt from the frame to the axl tubes. i run them and love them. check out their website.
