removing drip rail?

If you have removed the drip rail ( or rust rail in many cases), how did you do it? And, what did you do to make it look good?

Thanks,

I've been talking to a friend who does body work about the same thing. He suggests bending it up to meet the roof.
Cutting it off can be done BUT this is where the factory spot welds the roof onto the lower cab so you are removing structure. I suppose if you cut it flush and then welded the line between the roof and cab, ground it down, applied body filler, got it all nice and smooth and then painted it....
