Best iPhone apps for road trips?
About to go on my first long tow with the new truck, and looking for advice about good iPhone apps for:
* identifying road restrictions such as construction, road closures, etc.
* good diesel stations that are trailer friendly (one of my biggest gripes when towing is finding diesel signs for stations that aren't close to the exit and/or roomy enough for trailers)
Thanks; I won't be as concerned about refueling with the 37 gallon tank!

My favs are gasbuddy.com - Shows local stations and thier prices at the pump, the site is completly user based, so the info is inputed by other users. Works well in larger centers or areas your not familiar with. "Poynt" is good for restauraunts and yellow/white pages and fuel all in one, and also has a built in GPS function to map destinations. And I frequent theweathernetwork.com for forecasts and road info - Some site mat be different in your area, but the theme will be the same. These are all free downloadable apps

I use "around me" every day for everything. It won't necessarily help you with your specific things you typed but it's an amazing tool for finding things when you don't know much about where you are. You can search for anything you can think of and it will tell you where it's at.
I think you will have a hard time finding out the size of a fuel station prior to looking at it with your own two eyes. I just stick to the flying j/pilot/loves stops and things always work out.
My iPhone displays traffic if I ask it to and it's pretty accurate but I would bet other smartphones do it to.
Knowing construction areas takes research of state dot web sites before you start driving for the day. I just google it.
I am hoping somebody will chime in your thread with a great app that they found. I have not found one myself that does what you are looking for.

I agree with Rus, you call out a tall order. I use gas buddy for finding fuel. Aroundme for finding anything else and Roadtrip for recording fuel and maint costs and scheduling reminders for fuel and air filter changes etc.. Also excellent for recording where you filled up with description of station and gps coordinates. Case you need to go back....
