You didn't mess up-you may have to spend more time out of overdrive when you tow but it will work fine. I guess if I was doing it over I'd have got a 4.30 but my trailer only goes 5 or 6 thousand lbs so I'm not too worried about it.
Look at it this way-at any given speed your engine with 3.73 will be turning a little less rpm than it would with 4.30 so it shouldn't wear out as fast! Mine does about 1900 rpm @ 70mph in OD with 33" tires.
