I have seen 4x4 and extended cab 92-96 F150's with 351w's but I am looking for a regular cab short bed of that body style and was wandering if any came with 351w's. If not, can anyone give me the horsepower and torque ratings for the 302.
I cannot answer your first question, but you would imagine all F-150 truck configurations were available with like options. This excludes the dual fuel tanks on the SWB models, of course. I don't see many of those shortbase trucks running around. As for the latter question, the 302 was rated from '92-'94 for 185 Hp @ 3800 / 270 ft. lbs. @ 2400. For '95 year, those numbers went up to 205 Hp @ 4000 and 275 ft. lbs. @ 3000. For '96, 199 Hp @ 4200 and 270 ft. lbs. @ 2400. I got these figures from my Chilton's manual. The numbers look right, except for the '96 listing...

Actually for 1992 and 1993, the 302 was rated at 195hp. 1994 the numbers rose to 205hp/275ft/lbs of torque. You can get them in the shortbed combo, however none were equipped with manual transmissions. And 351's are VERY rate in F-150s.
Yes - the 5.8L, S/B, 4x4, regular cab XLT exists - I bought mine new in Feb '92 after my '86 SB 4x4 got ripped off. It took me nearly 2 months to find it, (sometimes ya just know what it is you want!).
It's great for the ski trips and for many surf trips down to Baja.
I installed an aftermarket 18.5gal aux tank to make a total fuel capacity of 37 gals. I could not believe that Ford did not offer the dual tank option on this combination! Otherwise, it has every option available and I've racked up 123,000 miles. See my gallery for pics.
John, that is one VERY sweet short bed! I wish Ford would have used the same dual exhaust setup they used on the 351's on all the models. My factory exhuast fell off when it was 3 years old.
So you guys are saying my 1995 F-150 4x4, standard cab, short bed with a 351W is a bit on the rare side? cool.
I know it took me a long while to find a short wheelbase F-150 after I killed my '94/302 with the help of a very little deer and a very large Jeffery Pine tree.
The current truck's histroy is kinda interesting. I bought it with 5K miles on the clock, from, get this, Beverly Hills Ford--one of the few Ford dealers in America that doesn't carry or sell trucks (unless you count Explorers). Seems the dealership owner's son had ordered it for use on his horse farm down near San Diego...then decided he didn't really need it. Dad ran an ad in the newspaper because the salesmen couldn't find anyone who wanted a standard cab. BINGO.
Truck has 3:55 limited slip (H9), E4OD (this is California) and, factory dual front shocks. The dual shocks don't seem to have anything to do with a snow plow option...anyone know if this was this a common option on the 1995?
I spend as much time as possible out in the National Forest and the short wheelbase has worked out really well.
As you can see from my sig I lucked up and found a 351w truck, and it's a short bed, regular cab. It's very hard to find a long bed or an ext cab w/351 much less a short bed, reg cab. I've been a Ford truck fan for years, since the early 80's and I've looked at 100's and most are 302 or 300/6. I always thought this was because the 302 made the effective power of ch@vy 350. If you ever noticed, ch@vy loaded most of their trucks with the 350 while Ford was selling the 302. I am the prior owner of a 95 reg cab/short bed with the 302. It ran great and had power but it didn't have the low-end of my 351. I had 31x10.5 and it wouldn't burn the tires w/3.55lsd. My 351 currently sits on 30x9.5 w/3.55lsd and it will smoke the tires. Driving like a grandma I'm getting 15mpg.
1994 Black/Silver F150 XLT 4x4 Reg Cab / Short Bed, 3.55 LSD, 5.8L w/84k miles, K&N drop-in (soon to be bored out airbox)
Upgrade wish list: 31x10.5, Gibson exhaust, helper springs, lights
I am swapping the motor. It orginally had a 6 in it. I am beefing up the 5-speed and using a clutch/pp/flywheel from an F350. I post pictures when it is complete.
Ford did not offer the 351 with a 5-speed in an F150, as far as I know. There is no listing in any parts catalogs for it.
